Thoughtfully Puzzled

Jack had been living in the same small town for years, but he had never felt like he fit in.

He was always an outsider looking in, never quite understanding why he was the odd man out. Every day he would take a walk around the town, observing the people and their interactions, hoping to one day understand why he felt so out of place.

On one particular day, Jack noticed a peculiar man sitting alone in a park, looking thoughtfully puzzled at something. He was dressed in all black and appeared to be in his late twenties.

Jack found himself drawn to the man and walked over to introduce himself. The man’s name was Dean and he told Jack that he was trying to figure out the answer to a difficult question.

“What’s the question?” asked Jack.

Dean sighed and said, “Why am I here?”

Jack was taken aback and didn’t know how to respond. After a few moments of awkward silence, he decided to be honest and told Dean that he didn’t know the answer. Nevertheless, he offered to help Dean search for the answer. The two of them spent the rest of the day talking, searching for clues and looking for answers.

By the end of the day, Jack had grown to understand Dean better and even felt a connection with him.

Dean thanked Jack for his help and they went their separate ways. But Jack now knew that he wasn’t alone in his search for understanding. He had found a friend in Dean and his puzzling question.
